Rick Wakeman‘s plans to mount two 2020 U.S. legs of his Grumpy Old Rock Star solo-piano tour were sidetracked by the COVID-19 pandemic, but now the former Yes keyboardist has confirmed that a 2021 edition of the trek, dubbed “The Even Grumpier Old Rock Star Tour,” will visit the States this fall.

The 24-date outing gets underway on October 14 in Derry, New Hampshire, and is plotted out through a November 19 show in Clearwater, Florida.

The shows will feature the 72-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer playing solo piano versions of Yes classics, material from his solo albums, and well-known songs by other artists to which he contributed, including some of David Bowie‘s early hits. Rick also will present his arrangements of a few Beatles tunes at the concerts. Interspersed with the performances, Wakeman will entertain audiences with his trademark bawdy jokes and humorous anecdotes.

Tickets to most of the concerts will go on sale to the general public this Friday, June 25, at 10 a.m. local time, although the on-sale date for a November 4 concert in Chicago is this Monday, June 28. In addition, pre-sale tickets for many of the shows will be available starting on Wednesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. local time; use the pre-sale code “GRUMPIER.” Visit RWCC.com for more info.

After the U.S. trek, Wakeman will mount a U.K. holiday tour in late November and December that has been humorously dubbed “The Not Quite as Grumpy as Last Xmas Tour.”
